I LOVE YOU

 In our eyes, see trust

Letting our souls never rust.

Open new gates to one another.

Vowing amongst each other.

Every and always, you'll always be there.

Your love for me I'll never share.

On to a new path we'll go hand in hand.

You are my dream come true, you will always be my man.

I wrote this years ago. Also had it published in the Poetry Anthology of Canada. And made into a plaque that I have on my wall.

Tea and Tools

I have had this little teapot for a very long time. It's one of those items that has always had a place in my writing space. My mom got this for me many Christmases ago. Yes, I used it for tea once. But noticed it leaked when I poured Tetley tea into a teacup.

It's so sweet. My eyes always enjoy looking over the pictures on the teapot, smiling at the books on its handle. So now, this is where it will sit. Its home is here beside me with fun pens and pencils sticking out.

Do you have a fun cup, teapot, or vase that you use for something other than what it's meant for?

Writing Plans In the Making 500 wrds a Day

This week was not as productive for my writing as I would have liked. I done other things. Marketing and thought writing, but nothing that was part of anything I'm actually working on.

Until today!

There are online writing sprints I like to join.

In the first sprint, I did 126 words. Felt good...the ideas trickled down to my fingertips.

Second sprint, 271. Even better. Now I was getting back into my protagonist's mindset. Finally, since I have missed her and the setting more than I realized.

Third sprint, 330! Ah there it is. I was back, and loving the speed of my fingertips over the keys and the sound.

Soon I had to go for a walk. Eat something and usual house stuff.

I have joined Publish and Thrive!

This will be the year!

Happy Monday and words on the page

The plan for today is to look over this planner and see how many words I wrote last year. I know I have done 50k or more, but they were all over the place and not always focused on a single manuscript at a time.

But since today is Monday, I will focus on a 500-word count for today and throughout the week.

I will go over each day from now till this coming Friday on how many I have written. I am working on a new series to go with K8s Korner ideas.

It's going to be so exciting and I can't wait to share with everyone!

Other book news I will add to the blog here and add to facebook as well.

Happy Writing!

Sunday Roll Of the Dice. Rory's Story Cubes Classic.

Once upon a time, the world was on fire. Someone wearing a mask pretending to be someone they were not set the world on fire. Almost everything that was cherished was burnt. Smoke rose to the sky, but the masked person let it burn.

But what that masked person didn't know was that everyone was watching them. Many, MANY eyes on the masked person started talking. Conversation spread over the burning world. They had to take a gamble like rolling the dice. What each side represented, they didnt know. It was rolled to a ONE. Only one had the key to the knowledge they all sought. When the knowledge opened, the door would be unlocked.

Staycation During November

During November, I took a few days off as staycation days so I could relax at home and work on my WIP (work in progress). Book three is almost done.

To inspire me to sit down at my home desk I decided tidy it up. Move aside anything bulky or unnecessary. Then I went around the house and gathered what I once used but have not in a while. In the first picture, this is what it looked like after.

When Nanowrimo was something I did. They had mugs with the November theme. This is the first mug I bought myself three years ago or more. Since it's a dark blue, this is my evening writing mug.

Do you have a favourite mug to sip out of while writing?

This little book, the Writers' Companion, which I ordered so many years ago, I almost forgot about. As I took it off my bookshelf, I gave it a gentle wash. Opened it, reading over old ideas I had in the past, ones that left me wondering if I still had those WIP somewhere in a file folder.

Do you have old writing books you bought but sadly forgot about?

In the evenings, I will light this orange candle; usually, I have a smaller blue candle sitting on this brown box. Inside this box are all my small blue candles, for when I write, I light. But I am out, so I found this orange candle that will work just as well. Also, my lovely crystal writing companions.

Orange candle- for creativity

Orange calcite- confidence and positivity

Blue Calcite- calm, communication

Citrine- sucess and joy

Carneline- emotional balance

Rutilated Quartz- amplifying energy

This is my new writing planner! This lovely book I bought when we were in Canmore, Alberta. The idea is to write down what I am writing. The word count and what I am looking to reach. I have used it a lot and really love the layout.

Trees have always been my favourite, no matter what it's on. So the fact that it looks magical with a tree is a bonus!

Do you have a writing planner you are using? Where did you get it? Do you like using it, or would you prefer it laid out differently?

November 12th, feels good!

For the last year, I have already had a decent amount of words. But there is something I have learnt about myself. I can write about 25k in one month, with a full-time 9- 5 job and other life tidbits that come up and go away.

Everything I have written last year I have kept and edited. Read over and over, feeling the vibe of what I want to say in each story. I could go to the 50k with more writing time. But I am also learning my writing process, learning how much I can write in each sprint. 15min sprint I can roughtly do 300 to 400 words or a little less. Sometimes these words are thrown up through my fingertips, with a significant need to redo, reread, and/or just remove, sadly.

Finding the small pockets of time is essential to me during this time of the year. So going to my local library is something I love to do as well. Or going to the local Tim Hortons with an interesting writing buddy who has many words under his belt as well!

Finding a writing community is a must for me. Keeps me inspired to keep the fingers on the keys of the pencil to the paper.
